You mean gout in the big toe?

Podagra is gout, plain and simple. It’s just called podagra or more gout symptoms when they’re terrorizing the big toe. Everything you hear about gout, is that you get in the big toe. That’s complete BS: I’ve had it in my big toe, all my other toes, my whole foot (feet), both ankles, my knees, my wrists, hands, fingers…it’s not just the big toe.

The term is sort an old timey kind of a thing and evidently the term gets used more often these days back in the old country, Europe and the UK, you know where they do things “proper”. Here in the wild, wild west or in the Land of Oz, you know, “down-unda”, we just call it GOUT!…or, “my f&%king toe hurts like f#@king hell – where the f&$k is the meat cleaver?!”

Check out what our good buddy, Dr. Michael Prevost has to say about big toe gout:

Podagra…or Gout in the Great Toe

How do you like that; “Great Toe”? The thing with gout when it’s stuck in your big toe is that it really isn’t the great toe itself, it’s the joint at the base of the great toe that gets it the worse and the most often. It’s called the metatarsal-phalangeal joint.

Hi Bert,

I have followed your advise for quite some time now and really appreciate your daily messages – keeping everything on track. I haven’t had an attack for over 2 years now, which is great. However, as a result I believe of previous attacks and poor diet etc I have developed smallish Tophi deposits on and around the big toe on both feet. 2 months ago I decided to take the opportunity to have the larger deposit removed from the left big toe. Although the deposits have been removed, the recovery period has been extremely challenging. I will soon have to decide whether to have the same operation done on the right foot. Just wondering whether in your experiences you have known tophi to disappear through continually eating the right stuff, drinking water and basically all the good stuff that we should be doing? I would prefer not to have another operation if possible.
Keep up the good work.

Kind regards
Lee

As I was saying earlier, I’ve had podagra…or whatever you want to call it besides gout, in most of the joints in my body. Beyond that I’ve had 3 separate surgeries for tophi . . . in the fingers of both hands and one of the toes on my right foot. That’s why they call me The Gout Killer…because gout didn’t kill me first.

There have been times though, that when I had a healthy dose of good old podagra going on, that I thought of chopping my toe off…that’s how the meat cleaver became my kill gout logo.

  Remember!  I said Podagra…not Viagra.

Bert Middleton

“I know your pain. Let me help you kill your gout for good!  And teach you to advocate for yourself and take ownership of your gout recovery, by showing you how to live the gout-free lifestyle.” Two decades ago, Bert Middleton found himself diagnosed with gout. Like 8.3 million other people in the United States (approximately 4% of the population), he struggled helplessly with the physical, emotional, social, and financial impact that gout left unchecked can have on your life. Prescription drugs were of limited help… And the terrible pain of regular gout attacks left him unable to enjoy even the simplest daily pleasures. His marriage was suffering. His finances were spiraling due to the impact gout had on his ability to work. And maintaining a social life was often nearly impossible. Tophi surgeries left him in terrible pain.  And he found himself depressed … and angry … that gout was stealing years of his life.

Until one day, after hundreds of hours of research and self-experimentation, Bert finally had a breakthrough and created a blueprint for a way of living that would prove to be “the answer” to living gout-free for nearly a decade now. Today, Bert and his “Gout Wife” Sharon devote their evenings and weekends to educating other gout sufferers on how to live the gout-free lifestyle. Showing others his 911 Emergency Response Gout Recovery Plan for getting PAINFUL gout attacks under control in as little as 4 hours. And then, how to make daily choices that keep gout under control for GOOD! So you can finally start LIVING again!
