W.H.O. Can We Turn To?
There’s seems to be such a discrepancy in just what healthy living is and how it is essential to prevent gout …as well as all sorts of disease and illness. But most importantly, how healthy living helps us avoid pharmaceutical drugs.
In the world today, we are so completely inundated with advertising and promotional ploys from Big Pharma, – the opposite of healthy living – it’s hard not to have a warped sense of what “health” really is.
Many well-meaning doctors of this day and age are completely hobbled by:
- The education put forward to them that is all funded and tailored but the drug industry, and
- The insurance companies that supply them with their malpractice insurance – “you will prescribe this drug when these symptoms are presented
What Is the Definition of Healthy Living?
Our friends at healthy-holistic-living.com said it best;
- According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Interestingly enough, health is not simply defined as just the absence of disease.
The actual definition of Healthy Living is the steps, actions and strategies one puts in place to achieve optimum health. Healthy Living is about taking responsibility and making smart health choices for today and for the future. Eating right, getting physically fit, emotional wellness, spiritual wellness and prevention are all apart of creating a healthy lifestyle. Since the entire YOU, meaning all aspects of one’s self, must work in harmony to achieve wellness, you need to put balanced energy into each aspect of yourself.
Well said? I think so. It’s not just which foods to avoid gout and gout attacks, there are so many other choices about how create healthy living and live longer happier lives.
Another great source of information about how to live and healthy living comes from Kellie Hall/Wellness Coach. She put together an excellent list of 8 areas in our lives that we need to focus on and keep in balance. Here is what she had to say:
The 8 Key Components of Wellness
1. Social Wellness: How you relate to self, others, and community; having supportive relationships and a sense of belonging.
2. Physical Wellness: How you care for you body and mind; your health and vitality.
3. Environmental Wellness: How you create environments around you to support your best self, as well as how you relate to the global environment.
4. Emotional/Mental Wellness: Your awareness and acceptance of your feelings; your thoughts, attitudes, and self-talk; your resilience and self-esteem.
5. Intellectual Wellness: Having creative and stimulating activities that allow you to continue learning and pursuing your interests.
6. Career / Livelihood: Having fulfilling and meaningful work in which you nurture your gifts, skills and talents.
7. Spiritual Wellness: Your sense of meaning and purpose in your life; how you integrate your beliefs and values into action.
8. Financial Wellness: How you understand and handle your money in ways that provide for you now, as well as prepare you for financial changes.
I could have strained the little old Bert brain to come up with something similar to what Kellie had to say because I touch on all of this so often in regards to what it takes to kill gout. But she said it all so well, I decided maybe it would be helpful to hear it from her instead of hearing it all from me again.
We are all so misguided by the western medicine powers-that-be, just so they can push their own agenda. Since we’re talking gout here, what my experience has been and what I’ve learned is, the gravity the western medicine agenda in this case carries more weight: drugs are NOT the best way to deal with gout.
There is so much more wisdom in learning the importance of balancing acid and alkaline. Treating gout is as simple as avoiding the activities that add to the internal acidic load, and taking advantage of measures to decrease the acidic accumulation.
☆ Remember: Being gout free IS healthy living.

“I know your pain. Let me help you kill your gout for good! And teach you to advocate for yourself and take ownership of your gout recovery, by showing you how to live the gout-free lifestyle.” Two decades ago, Bert Middleton found himself diagnosed with gout. Like 8.3 million other people in the United States (approximately 4% of the population), he struggled helplessly with the physical, emotional, social, and financial impact that gout left unchecked can have on your life. Prescription drugs were of limited help… And the terrible pain of regular gout attacks left him unable to enjoy even the simplest daily pleasures. His marriage was suffering. His finances were spiraling due to the impact gout had on his ability to work. And maintaining a social life was often nearly impossible. Tophi surgeries left him in terrible pain. And he found himself depressed … and angry … that gout was stealing years of his life.
Until one day, after hundreds of hours of research and self-experimentation, Bert finally had a breakthrough and created a blueprint for a way of living that would prove to be “the answer” to living gout-free for nearly a decade now. Today, Bert and his “Gout Wife” Sharon devote their evenings and weekends to educating other gout sufferers on how to live the gout-free lifestyle. Showing others his 911 Emergency Response Gout Recovery Plan for getting PAINFUL gout attacks under control in as little as 4 hours. And then, how to make daily choices that keep gout under control for GOOD! So you can finally start LIVING again!
